Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Responsible for certain Accounting and Finance. Is able to analyze, explain and process improve within these functions.
- Creates, analyzes, and interprets reporting for functional responsibilities.
- Leads complex projects, process development, training, and team development.
- Proactive evaluation of process improvement and efficiencies throughout their department.
- Prepares Journal Entries (JE’s).
- Assists with month-end analysis, review, reporting
- Oversees, supports, and/or backup for some administrative functions as needed. Possibly including, but not limited to, front desk, phones, scanning, tracking driver logs, administering driver bags (documentation, keys, checks, etc), scheduling maintenance, ordering/monitoring supplies, and other administrative functions.
- Meets with various departments, managers and leadership to discuss, interpret, and gather information to be able to perform their duties for this position.
- Ensures compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting deadlines within the scope of their position
- Assists with review of P&L, B/S and other various financial reports throughout the month.
- Works with management to ensure that functions within the scope for this position are Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliant.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of General Ledger and Financial Accounting experience
- Strong computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters/MBA or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- 4+ years of Financial Accounting or Operations Accounting experience (preferably in food distribution environment)
- Public accounting experience is a plus
