According to a recent study by personal finance site MoneyRates.com, Hawaii ranks as the worst state in the U.S. to make a living. MoneyRates.com analyzed and ranked all fifty states based on average salary, the cost of living, rate of employment and workplace conditions. The primary reason Hawaii ranked dead last was the cost of living vs average compensation disparity.
