The Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Development to lead early-stage development of a large-scale, multi-gigawatt gas-fired power project. This is a standalone, executive-level role requiring a self-directed leader capable of managing complex development workstreams across regulatory, technical, commercial, and stakeholder engagement disciplines.
The role requires autonomy, strong Pennsylvania market expertise, and demonstrated success developing large, complex power infrastructure projects.
Location
Preference order:
• Pennsylvania
• Austin, TX, Denver, CO, or Maryland offices with travel
• Exceptional candidate with deep Pennsylvania experience open to extensive travel
What You Will Do
In this position, you will:
• Lead early-stage development of a multi-GW gas-fired generation project
• Drive permitting strategy, regulatory engagement, and environmental approvals
• Manage PJM interconnection strategy and transmission coordination
• Oversee site control, land agreements, and local stakeholder engagement
• Coordinate engineering, environmental, commercial, and technical advisors
• Support commercial structuring and offtake discussions
• Develop project execution roadmap and risk mitigation strategies
• Prepare the project for financing and EPC engagement
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will bring extensive early-stage power development experience, ideally with large, complex gas-fired generation projects.
Key Qualifications:
• 10–20+ years of power generation development experience
• Demonstrated leadership on large-scale gas-fired generation projects
• Direct experience in Pennsylvania permitting and regulatory processes
• Deep understanding of PJM interconnection processes
• Ability to operate independently and build structure from ambiguity
• Strong executive communication and board-facing presence

Compensation:
Senior Director Level: $200K – $275K + STIP + MIP
Vice President Level: $250K – $350K + STIP + MIP
