About the Company: Our client is a rapidly scaling digital-energy infrastructure developer operating at the intersection of data centers and energy systems. They develop Tier I market data center power projects. The company is backed by $500M+ in equity commitments, giving them a long runway for growth.

Position Overview: This is an in-house Associate General Counsel role supporting the General Counsel and company leadership across a broad spectrum of legal, commercial, and development work. The successful candidate will be deeply integrated into business operations and strategic decisions, supporting the legal needs of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, execution-focused environment.

They will work closely with the GC, outside counsel, and internal engineering, development, and commercial teams to move projects forward rapidly and will support and/or lead legal work across:

  • Energy transactions:
  • Power sales agreements (capacity, tolling, EEI, NAESB)
  • Energy markets participation
  • Natural gas procurement & transportation agreements
  • Development & project execution:
  • EPC agreements
  • Major equipment procurement
  • Land acquisition, site control, leases, and real estate contracts
  • Interconnection, permitting, environmental compliance
  • Corporate & strategic matters:
  • Joint ventures, strategic partnerships
  • M&A
  • Corporate governance
  • Project finance / tax equity exposure a plus

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with a minimum of 8+ years of legal experience
    • A strong background in energy markets, digital infrastructure or related industries is also required, including exposure to one or more of the following areas: 
    • Electric energy and capacity transactions
    • Natural gas procurement and transportation
    • Tolling and other revenue agreements
    • Interconnection and permitting processes
    • M&A
    • Project development, including large infrastructure construction
    • Project finance
    • Experience with real estate law, environmental regulations and corporate governance is highly desirable. 
    • Top candidates will also have experience at a major law firm and as in-house counsel
