SVP of Engineering & Construction
Location: Must be willing to relocate to Puerto Rico, U.S., or live within direct flight of Puerto Rico with the ability to be on-site for extended periods of time.
The role: This person will lead all Puerto Rico Engineering and Construction for utility scale solar and storage project activities through development, EPC contracting, construction management and post-COD operations & maintenance, as well as all future activities across North America and the continental U.S.

- Act as the company's primary stakeholder for all EPC project related vendors including subcontractors (O&M, Construction, Engineering, Equipment, and technology)
- Develop & implement full-cycle EPC process from beginning to end for utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects
- Support company development M&A activities
- Support new business Initiatives as they arise with feedback and recommendations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or other related disciplines required (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of utility-scale renewable energy EPC experience working with IPPs / Developers / Owners
- Minimum 5 years experience in the solar construction industry or direct engineering managements on solar construction projects
- Must have experience in island environments dealing with high wind speed specifications
- Ideal candidate will have worked at a big name EPC firm for a meaningful number of years and has been a PM on major solar projects with the exposure to the design and engineering side. Plus if experience includes not just operating on the EPC side, but also on the developer side as well (owners engineer, 3rd party, or in-house)
- Need experience working post-commercial operations on building out an asset management and O&M team; particularly at one of the larger platforms out there
- Experience in all EPC phases of utility scale renewable energy projects including engineering design, construction, feasibility studies, factory acceptance test, startup and turnover
- Demonstrated experience in leading multifunctional engineering and construction teams in successful development and construction of renewable energy transactions
- Have direct and relevant experience with the latest solar and battery storage equipment including solar panels, inverters/transformers, racking systems and battery systems
- Must be detail oriented and passionate about the documentation process. Strong documentation and process experience is a must
- Solar and storage experience needed. Thermal or natural gas exposure ideal as well. Green hydrogen or geothermal is a bonus.
- Well versed in high level technical project management initiatives such as contractor evaluation and selection, financials, schedules, estimates, contracts, constructability reviews, project phasing and earned value KPIs
- Must have a solid understanding of commercial aspects of the EPC process with expertise in contract negotiations, and utility-scale (solar PV, Energy storage / battery storage, & Wind) project risk assessments
- Oral and written communications skills a must, with fluency in English and Spanish
