Seeking a motivated candidate who is a team player.
Candidate will work as an integral member of the General Ledger Accounting team, participate in the monthly general ledger close, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS:
- Efficient and accurate reconciliation of high volume and/or complex balance sheet accounts including maintenance of related spreadsheets, preparation of related journal entries, and review of subledger data.
- Preparation of monthly recurring journal entries, accruals, and other month-end close processes.
- Research G/L and subledger related questions and prepare correcting and special request JE’s or other adjustments as required and Accounting and analysis support for employees in other departments.
- Other duties, including but not limited to, preparing property tax returns based on G/L records, preparing audit work papers as directed and providing backup support in the absence of other G/L group members.
Internal Control Considerations: Oracle General Ledger module as well as other Oracle modules as needed to perform basic job function. This module access will come with varying levels of responsibility and include: Fixed Assets, Projects, Cost Management, Cash Management, Receivables, Payables, Purchasing, Inventory, etc.
COMPETENCIES:
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of accounting procedures and solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills in creating and manipulating spreadsheets
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible general ledger accounting experience. CPA firm experience in an accountant role may substitute for general ledger accounting experience up to a two for one year basis.
- Experience using accounting software, Oracle preferred, and preparing journal entries.
