Senior Process Engineer – Battery Recycling & Critical Minerals

Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, TX (on-site)
Travel: As needed to support development and project execution
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Company

We are a venture-backed, growth-stage clean technology company developing and commercializing innovative process technologies focused on battery recycling, critical minerals, and rare earth element recovery. The company is transitioning from technology development into commercial execution, with multiple facilities in development across the United States.

Our work supports domestic supply chains, resource circularity, and the advancement of next-generation materials recovery. We operate with an entrepreneurial, highly collaborative culture where technical contributions are visible, valued, and impactful.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to play a critical role in the design, modeling, and execution of commercial-scale process technologies. This position will focus primarily on process simulation, design criteria development, and techno-economic evaluation for battery recycling and rare earth / magnet recycling pathways.

This is a high-impact role suited for an experienced engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, low-bureaucracy environment and is comfortable owning complex technical work from early development through execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop process design criteria, mass and energy balances, and process flow diagrams for commercial-scale systems

  • Build, validate, and troubleshoot detailed process models and simulations

  • Translate laboratory and pilot-scale results into commercial equipment sizing and specifications

  • Support techno-economic analysis, including evaluation of OPEX and CAPEX impacts from process design decisions

  • Contribute to FEL and FEED-stage engineering activities and support progression toward FID and commissioning

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product development, operations, and external partners

  • Support vendor engagement and technical evaluations as needed

  • Ensure process designs align with safety, environmental, and operational requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of experience in hydrometallurgical or metallurgical process engineering

  • Strong experience with solvent extraction and related unit operations

  • Hands-on experience with process modeling and simulation software

  • Background in mining & metals, battery materials, critical minerals, or recycling processes

  • Experience supporting projects through FEL / FEED stages

  • Ability to operate independently in a dynamic, growth-stage environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with membrane-based or novel separation technologies

  • Exposure to lithium, rare earths, or battery material recovery processes

  • Experience translating test work into commercial-scale process designs

Why This Role

  • Work on proprietary, first-of-its-kind technologies with real commercial impact

  • Play a meaningful role in strengthening U.S. critical materials supply chains

  • High visibility and ownership over core technical work

  • Collaborative, flexible, and mission-driven team environment

  • Opportunity to grow with a company scaling toward commercial operations
