Senior Electrical Engineer
Description
Senior-level Electrical Engineering graduate in our OnSite Energy & Power group to provide discipline leadership and manage electrically focused design and design-build district energy projects. Projects include design and master planning services to support central utility plants, medium voltage systems, microgrids, combined heat and power (CHP), as well as electrical distribution design and modeling for campuses, hospitals, industrial facilities, airports and other areas of concentrated energy use.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will direct and coordinate all aspects of electrical design work and is responsible for the electrical budget of the individual projects, the successful completion of the electrical tasks within the specified dates, establishing and maintaining a professional and satisfactory relationship with the Owner, coordinating with all design disciplines as well as with the construction team for design-build projects
Major responsibilities for the candidate will include:
- Integrate communication and technical skills and apply them to challenging and diverse projects spanning from design and master planning to turnkey design-build opportunities.
- Working in multi-disciplined teams on a wide variety of project types.
- Responsible for designing any number of facility electrical systems including: switchgear, power distribution, microgrids, and renewable integration.
- Responsible for performing various electrical calculations and analysis including: load flow studies, arc flash and short-circuit analysis, and full system modeling.
- Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Performs work which involves conventional engineering practices, but may involve a variety of complex features.
- May coordinate departmental and divisional project studies and report preparation assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from accredited program.
- Registered PE required.
- Senior-level position (minimum 5 years of professional experience)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Previous related consulting experience preferred.
