We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a civil/structural engineering background to oversee the construction and commissioning of a reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant. This role will lead project execution across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) interfaces to bring a new drinking-water system online safely and successfully. The ideal candidate has previously managed water/wastewater or industrial facility construction projects, understands full EPC project cycles, and can coordinate diverse teams in Jamaica or Dominican.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for the construction of a reverse osmosis water treatment plant.
- Oversee all civil and structural activities including foundations, structures, site layout, and integration with mechanical and process systems.
- Manage EPC workflows: engineering reviews, procurement tracking, subcontractor oversight, construction progress, and quality assurance.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, contractors, and local authorities in Jamaica.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and reporting dashboards.
- Ensure construction activities meet design specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee procurement planning, bid evaluations, material expediting, logistics, and delivery to site.
- Conduct regular site visits to Jamaica and drive on-site issue resolution.
- Facilitate commissioning readiness, testing, documentation, and turnover to operations.
- Maintain clear communication with internal leadership, stakeholders, and external partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5–10+ years of experience managing industrial, infrastructure, water treatment, or process-plant construction projects.
- Strong understanding of EPC project execution models and contract structures.
- Hands-on experience with reverse osmosis systems, water treatment facilities, or utility-scale engineering projects (preferred).
- Proficiency in project controls, scheduling (Primavera P6 or MS Project), and construction documentation.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple workstreams across different geographies.
- Strong understanding of procurement, subcontracts, logistics, and vendor management.
- Ability to travel internationally for two-week rotations; ability to work on a remote U.S. basis when not on site.
Work Environment & Travel
- U.S.-based with flexible location; proximity to a major airport is ideal.
- Travel to Jamaica or Dominican for two-week assignments during construction phases
- Typical schedule is hybrid: remote management between site rotations.
