Planning Director
Location: Houston, TX
This opportunity is with a full-service water midstream company. This role will be responsible for:
Take prospective projects from BD from initial thought/concept all the way to a proposed deal.
• Work with land on routing for potential pipelines.
• Run hydraulics on complex pipeline systems and mesh together potential projects and hydraulic impacts.
• Create cost estimates for potential projects, and work with operations to narrow down cost estimates to get to a final AFE total should the project be accepted.
• Understand and be able to edit economic models for potential projects, working with Corp Dev group to create/edit model and proposed deals.
• Work with BD to make economic models fit what the operator is trying to achieve on a rate/pay basis for potential projects.
• Calculate current costs to be used as assumptions for models, including fixed and variable OpEx, royalties, oil cut/price, etc., and confirm those with operations, accounting, and land.
• Work with reservoir engineering on getting into the data details for forecasts and type curves when our forecasts differ from operator forecasts, and making
• Be able to teach hydraulic modeling to young engineer(s), correct mistakes, and help to understand full hydraulic impacts on all pipeline systems.
• Diligence mergers and acquisitions in all aspects of hydraulics, business development, inputs for economic models, and operations.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Petroleum or Mechanical, Civil field is preferred
• Hydraulic modeling – any software, strong excel skills.
• Strong knowledge about oilfield water pipelines and SWD facilities.
• Knowledge of type curves and reservoir engineering.
• Experience in production/facilities engineering.
• Knowledge of navigating SCADA system and different data platforms.
• Working knowledge of Enverus suite of softwares and B3
