Electrical Design Engineer – Data Centers
Location: Remote ( priority hiring for Texas)
Travel: Typically 1–2×/month for 2–3 days (Tues–Thurs)
Project Types: (Data center projects. Majority AI and liquid-to-chip)
- MV/LV distribution
- UPS
- Generators
- Switchgear
- Branch circuiting for massive compute halls
The Role: The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as designing electrical systems for data centers and critical infrastructure, including building construction, engineering calculations and specifications, creating 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models in Revit, managing engineering design projects, and traveling to project locations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with project teams.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office products, load calculations, discipline-specific design software (i.e., AutoCAD, Revit), power system modeling, spreadsheets, and engineering tools.
- Design experience with uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, and critical power system components and system topologies is required.
- Experience with power system modeling, like short circuit coordination and arc flash studies is desired.
- Broad design experience including lighting, grounding, and power distribution from utility coordination to device power is required.
- Experience with planning and conducting inspections and investigations on various aspects of the construction and design of facilities and systems, applying applicable regulations and policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
- Proficiency in Revit Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
- Experience with Project Management
- Familiar with all related codes and standards
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail as well as effective communication skills with project teams
- Experience in facilities or data centers is a plus
