Title:  Director, Pricing and Supply- Retail Energy

Seeking a Director, Pricing and Supply, to join the Retail team, based in Sugar Land, Texas. The primary duties will be the accurate costing of retail electricity for commercial and industrial clients, including historical usage data collection and review, load profile analysis, critical cost component review, cost validation, and market analysis to find strategic buying opportunities for customers.
This position will report to the Vice President of Retail Pricing and Supply.
The Role and Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Own portfolio strategy: Set and execute supply strategies to meet gross margin targets across NYISO, ISO-NE, ERCOT, and PJM retail markets.
  • Price with precision: Oversee historical usage collection, load profiling, and cost-stack estimation (energy, capacity, REC/RPS, ancillaries, transmission, line losses, fees).
  • Hedge intelligently: Execute wholesale transactions (energy, capacity, RECs, options/blocks) with counterparties to support retail positions and structured products.
  • Manage risk limits: Partner with Risk to monitor exposures, maintain exposure/limit frameworks, and implement mitigation tactics consistent with policy.
  • Own forward curves & assumptions: Build/maintain forward curves, capture market fundamentals, calibrate to observed prices, and keep a documented assumptions log.
  • Lead pricing operations: Ensure models reflect all costs of goods sold, stay current with ISO/RTO rules, and translate regulatory changes into pricing/product/risk actions.
  • Enable Sales & Structuring: Collaborate to design bespoke retail products (e.g., blended/indexed, load-following, block & index, renewable adders) and support complex RFPs.
  • Improve platforms: Contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of pricing tools, data pipelines, and analytics dashboards.
  • Analyze & communicate: Provide ad hoc analysis on market drivers, cost components, and position/risk impacts; present insights to senior leadership

Job Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree – Majors in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, are preferred
  • 7+ year prior experience in the energy industry, including 3+ year prior experience in pricing and structuring for Commercial and Industrial customers
  • Knowledge of SQL, R, or Python is a plus
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Ability to think logically and with clear reasoning
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage stressful situations
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
