Director / Senior Director – Project Management Office (PMO)
Advanced Energy Infrastructure | FOAK Projects
Hybrid / Remote (U.S.)
We are seeking a Director / Senior Director of Project Management Office (PMO) to lead delivery across a portfolio of first-of-a-kind (FOAK) energy and industrial infrastructure projects, including power generation facilities, fuel-related assets, and supporting infrastructure.
This is a high-visibility, build-from-scratch role responsible for establishing and scaling an enterprise PMO while overseeing full lifecycle execution from development and construction through commissioning and handover to operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
What You’ll Do
-
Build and lead a best-in-class PMO, including governance frameworks, decision gates, tools, and standardized delivery processes
-
Oversee end-to-end project delivery across multiple concurrent FOAK and follow-on projects
-
Own integrated schedules, budgets, forecasts, risk registers, and performance metrics
-
Lead and mentor a PMO team spanning internal staff and third-party partners
-
Manage EPCs, contractors, and equipment suppliers across complex capital projects
-
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, construction, procurement, regulatory, finance, and commercial teams
-
Support negotiation and execution of major contracts including EPC, equipment supply, O&M, and power or offtake agreements
-
Deliver clear, executive-level reporting to senior leadership, Boards, customers, and government stakeholders
-
Drive continuous improvement to enable scalability for future deployments
What We’re Looking For
-
10+ years of project management experience delivering capital-intensive energy, power, industrial, or infrastructure projects
-
Proven leadership of large EPC or construction programs with $100M+ budgets
-
Deep expertise in project controls including cost, schedule, earned value, and risk
-
Strong command of Primavera, MS Project, and PMIS platforms
-
Experience building or scaling a PMO in a high-growth or technically complex environment
-
PMP certification
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or similar
-
Comfortable operating in startup or fast-moving environments with ambiguity and ownership
Nice to Have
-
FOAK energy or advanced infrastructure project experience
-
Familiarity with regulated environments and government agencies
-
Background in nuclear, power generation, or emerging energy technologies
Who You Are
-
A builder who enjoys creating systems rather than inheriting them
-
Comfortable without heavy structure and motivated by ownership and accountability
-
A strong communicator who can translate technical detail to executive and Board audiences
-
Creative, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
-
Passionate about deploying next-generation energy infrastructure
