About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing energy and power solutions platform is seeking a Director of Business Development – Data Centers to lead commercial expansion across the U.S. data center market. This role focuses on leased power, long-term power solutions, and alternative delivery models supporting continuous, high-density, mission-critical load.

This is a senior, hands-on BD leadership role for a commercial executive who understands how data centers buy power—and how to structure solutions beyond traditional backup generation.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead business development and origination efforts for data center customers nationwide

  • Drive complex pursuits involving:

    • Leased power solutions

    • PPA-adjacent structures

    • MW-scale and campus-level deployments

  • Build relationships with:

    • Data center infrastructure & energy leaders

    • Development, site selection, and real estate teams

    • Procurement, finance, and executive stakeholders

  • Position solutions for continuous and primary power use cases, not just standby power

  • Operate as a player/coach, personally leading strategic deals while supporting scalable sales execution

  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to ensure commercial and technical alignment

  • Manage pipeline, forecasting, and deal progression using CRM tools

  • Support market positioning and brand credibility within the data center ecosystem

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in complex, technical B2B sales

  • Background selling into one or more of the following:

    • Data centers (hyperscale, colo, edge)

    • Power generation or energy solutions

    • Mission-critical or industrial infrastructure

  • Experience with leased power, PPAs, or non-traditional power delivery models strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to sell long-cycle, multi-stakeholder projects

  • Strong executive presence and commercial judgment

  • Willingness to travel regularly and maintain in-person customer relationships

Why This Role

  • Lead growth in one of the fastest-growing power demand markets in the U.S.

  • High visibility with executive leadership

  • Performance-based upside tied directly to MW deployed
