Recruiter Searching

The Washington Post recently posted a very informative article on choosing the right recruiter.  We couldn’t agree more with many of their observations: build a thorough and networked LinkedIn profile, be honest with your recruiter on all of your career goals, and keep the lines of communication open with your recruiter.

While we’re thrilled by the economic recovery and the rise in business, we do expect to see some ups and downs in the coming months.  (The volatile stock market certainly demonstrated these variances over the past two weeks.)  But with the good news out today reflecting falling unemployment numbers across the county, we have faith in the continued success of our current and future clients and anticipate a busy year.

Get to Work

The jobless rate may still be high, but we think the talk of  growth is real.  For job seekers still on the search, beware of overselling yourself to multiple recruiters or hiring authorities.   It is easy to lose professional integrity by applying multiple times to one position.  Instead, market yourself carefully and align yourself with ethical recruiting firms like Bradsby Group who carefully manage your personal information.

The Basics

January 29th, 2010 by Bradsby Blogger

You landed the job interview.  Now what?  In this tight job market it is easy to wallow in worry about your competition and question your experience.  Instead, focus on the basics.  Research the company.  Know what the job entails and why the job is vacant.  Anticipate your interview questions and answers.  Remember that every answer to every question should highlight the specifics of your skills.  Most importantly, sell yourself!

UPdate

November 6th, 2009 by Bradsby Blogger

UpWith the nation’s unemployment rate at its worse since 1983, it’s hard to see the good through the glum.  Clearly our local community has been feeling the pressure.  The American Psychological Association recently released a report showing that 80% of Denverites were stressed about employment and job stability.  With positive reports out about increased productivity and boosts in company earnings, our hope is that the stress level of our neighbors has decreased.  Internally, our business is picking up significantly and there is much hope for the coming months and the refreshed New Year.

LinkedIn

August 11th, 2009 by Bradsby Blogger

Today’s business professionals can harness the power of their networks by using online social network sites to meet other qualified professionals. One of our favorite online networking sites is LinkedIn. As a company, we use LinkedIn to meet and network with qualified individuals throughout the country. Individuals can use the site to highlight key professional achievements, harness social networks for professional advancements, manage recommendations, and ask for and give advice with other professionals. If you’ve never used LinkedIn before, check out this informative video on how LinkedIn works.

Job Security

July 31st, 2009 by Bradsby Blogger

Work-in-Progress

The economy may slowly be moving toward recovery mode, but many employed Americans are still white-knuckled and worried about the security of their own positions.  It’s no doubt, a very volatile time out there; stress levels are high and everyone feels vulnerable.  So this week we sought out articles full of tips related to retaining the positions we all currently have.  Though we don’t totally agree with all of them, some of our favorite include, don’t excel (but don’t do poorly), keep one mantra in mind–“I’m just happy to have a job”, mind your temper, ignore the drama, and above all else, do great work.  And as difficult as it might be, avoid blackmail at all costs (please!).  For more tips on keeping your job and for a little unemployment humor take a look at this week’s links.
